Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (EPC) provides expertise, support, services, and programming in emergency planning logistics to Adams Lake Indian Band (ALIB).

Mission Statement

The EPC is committed to maintaining and improving the capability to successfully mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards and disasters. We are continuously seeking to improve and enhance our services, to ensure we have the tools in place to meet the emergency needs of future ALIB generations.

General Roles & Responsibilities

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator supports the community in the development, implementation, and monitoring of ALIB’s community safety plan, including health and safety issues, environmental concerns, and emergency preparedness. The EPC will support the community in its readiness efforts against all threats to the health and welfare of the community and our members. This will be done through conducting targeted training efforts, education initiatives and regular updating of emergency response plans.

Goals & Objectives

  • To identify and assist in the mitigation of natural and human-caused hazards. To develop and maintain plans for major emergencies & disasters.
  • To establish training progams that maintain necessary emergency management skills.
  • To provide the direction and coordination to identify and maintain the additional resources needed for major emergencies within our community.
  • To gather & diseminate information to the public, media, local governments to assist in preparation, response, and recovery.
  • To serve as the focal point for coordination and liaison of activities between various governments in the response and recovery from emergencies.
