Steven Teed
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Steven Teed is a member of the Adams Lake Indian Band his mother is Sandy Lund and his grandmother is Joyce Michele/Labrie. Steven is an entrepreneur in food, agriculture, tourism and consulting. Steven also sits on the board for a local non-profit helping bring cultural programs to the community and youth.
In 2017 Steven was elected to Council for the Adams Lake Indian Band and became an active lobbyist and negotiator for food rights and Indigenous food sovereignty as well as governance and land rights. He started community food programs and gardening education plans to improve food security and nutrition education. During this time Steven was also the Interim Director of the Adams Lake Development Corporation, a band-owned enterprise with businesses in several sectors. Steven helped develop Policy and bring in new revenue through new partnerships and developments for ALIB.
In 2016, Steven Teed started Green Future Industries at one point BC’s largest Organic producer and began large-scale organic farming, producing 10’s of thousands of pounds of organic hemp seed for Canadian Markets while developing new technology for fibre and Hurd manufacturing and production. With his knowledge and focus on green alternative solutions Steven has worked with and consulted many First Nation communities and large corporations in Canada and the world.
With the pandemic slowing down business Steven enrolled in Simon Fraser University for his master’s in business administration and graduated in June 2023 winning the award for ‘most engaged student’. With improved business awareness, traditional knowledge and community support, Steven is excited to work for the Adams Lake Indian Band as the CEO.
